(01) The brief
Jack Daniel’s Barber is a barbershop in Independencia, Santiago. It needed customers to book their trusted barber on their own and, in the same system, to run the till, shifts and loyalty, which until then were written down by hand.
(02) What it does
- Online booking by service, barber and time, with “My booking” to view, change or cancel using the phone number.
- Product store with cart, pickup or delivery, and orders that arrive in the panel.
- Online deposit payment when booking, configurable by the owner and ready to switch on once the business account is connected.
(03) How it was built
- React with Vite served from Cloudflare Pages and a real-time database: the panel rings and alerts instantly when a booking, payment or CV comes in.
- Employee mode with a PIN for the day’s till; each barber has their own account and panel.
- Around 480 automated tests per role (owner, employee, customer) before publishing.
(04) Security
- Admin functions marked as internal: they only run on the server, never from the browser.
- The panel forces a change of the temporary password on first login and sessions expire after 14 hours.
- PDF CVs are checked and stripped of scripts before being stored.
(05) Speed and Google
Shop photos and videos converted to WebP and light formats; the store shows two columns on phones so the page does not grow too long.
(06) What it deliberately doesn’t do
- It does not issue electronic receipts.
- Online payment stays in demo mode until the business payment account is connected.
